This is my first carbon composite frame.
The size of the frame is 17" and weight is 1682 g (3.7 lbs).
Update May 2004: Riding impressions - after one year
One year after I finished my first carbon composite MTB frame I can confirm that this frame is not
broken or damaged after road testing and I am still alive.
I was very careful from the beginning of riding. I slowed down before almost every hurdle or
pothole, but my doubt quickly faded down and I forgot that I was riding a bike equipped with my
home-made frame. The first thing I noticed was the ability to absorb shocks and impacts. There
is really an evident difference riding on this carbon frame compared to non-carbon frames. Before,
I was afraid of the torsion of the rear part of the frame, or any lateral movements when pedaling,
but the frame seems to have good stiffness and torsion resistance.
So until now I am very satisfied. The riding is great. It's very comfortable. Later on, when I built
my carbon composite saddle and seatpost and bought carbon stem and handlebars, these feelings strengthened more.
Update December 2007: New look for the frame
An update for the look of the frame. The frame is equipped with a new carbon fork I made for this frame.
